Keydi comes to our house every Saturday to clean and today she brought her daughter Stacey. Stacey is a spunky, sassy little two year old. The thought suddenly occurred to us that we could have a "Stacey fun day". Keydi does not necessarily have the means to take her daughter out the way our kids do in the states. We asked Keydi if she would be okay with giving Stacey a special day to just be a kid. Keydi agreed and off we went.
We first took them to get some good old junk food. Stacey's favorite is a chicken joint called Tip-Top, so Tip-Top it was. She enjoyed it and it was delicious! After eating we took them to the movies to see Toy Story 3. Let me tell you, it is very odd watching a movie with Spanish voices dubbed over! Stacey loved the movie and so did Keydi. We really wanted for Stacey to have a memory of the day so we went to a toy store and bought her a Buzz Lightyear and Woody doll. She fell in love with them instantly and wouldn't let them go for anything in the world. We ended the day with ice cream and dropped them off at home in the early evening.
Although plans were changed (as expected) we felt great about giving Stacey a day to enjoy. We are truly blessed by this little angel and we will miss her tons when we leave Nicaragua! Tomorrow we are going to Verbo Church and this time, we are setting three alarms! Last week's nightmare is not happening again.
I am today what yesterday has made me; tomorrow I shall be changed by today's experiences.
xoxo
