To buy or not to buy...that is the question

After going to bed at 5:00 this morning, we started off our day late. It was a bit annoying since we strive to be productive each day but I guess our conversation in the middle of the night was well worth it.

Today we planned on visiting the cancer hospital where Delanie has cut hair. But do to the late start of our day and having no idea where the hospital even is, we changed our plans. We did, however, plan to buy some needed beauty items for the hospital at the mall today. Marta, the lady in charge of the cancer hospital ministry told us last week that the ladies were in need of combs, brushes, hair dryers, towels, hair cutting scissors, and a cape. We thought it would be a great idea to go to the mall and buy these products to bring to the hospital. Keydi (our "maid") came with us to the mall to help us buy these items. But, of course, Nicaragua won. We realized that a lot of products in Nicaragua are actually more expensive to purchase than in the U.S., which was very bizarre to us. We made the decision to ask YOU GUYS to think about donating some of these needed items. They are way cheaper to buy in the states and we can easily get them down here. If you are interested in sending some down, leave us a comment below or email Priscilla at hellopreece@yahoo.com and we will figure out the details.

We also planned on buying shoes for our night guard, Ocatavio and one of the teens at Casa Bernabe. Again, the shoes were ridiculously expensive and we opted not to buy them today. It sucked to not be successful in our plans but we had a great time with Keydi. We treated her to an Italian restaurant at the mall in the evening and had a blast. She is such a blessing to us and she now has been tagged with the name "coach" because she has been coaching us on how to live here in Nicaragua.

So that's all. Our day was a total failure, or was it? We tried, at least. But in the end Nicaragua always wins and we are starting to get used to that.

I am today what yesterday has made me; tomorrow I shall be changed by today's experiences.
xoxo
Priscilla and Delanie
