Today we drove up to Masatepe. We went to the church/school that we've worked at already where Victor and Angela are in charge. Delanie promised the teachers at the school that she would cut their hair before their short vacation ends tomorrow. All of these lovely ladies were ecstatic to have their hair cut by the one and only Delanie. 14 teachers signed up to get a new do and Delanie went to work. It exhausts her to cut so much hair so she finished 7 of them today. We are heading back to the church/school tomorrow to finish the other 7. Priscilla did the usual translating and got to talk to some of the teachers that she might be working with this fall. They are introducing her as the official English teacher to the students; pretty wild considering she hasn't taken the offer yet! Please pray for her decision in this situation.
We ate a late lunch after working at the church/school. Angela invited us over to her house and we had delicious pork chops with home made tortillas. The food is sinfully scrumptious in this dang country, you can't easily resist it. Angela and her family are going to a pastors meeting in Mexico this week and she has given us an important job. We have to pick up another intern from Rip on the 21st of this month and show her around the church/school where she will be teaching for a month. We gratefully accepted the job offer to take her under our wing and show her the ropes her in crazy Nica. After Priscilla tweezed Angela's eyebrows (which is one of her favorite things to do) we drove home for the day. It felt like a successful day full of work, great food, and good friends.
I am today what yesterday has made me; tomorrow I shall be changed by today's experiences.
xoxo
Priscilla and Delanie
Hi Ladies!! Sounds like another couple of exciting days for you. We will pray for you Priscilla as you decide whether to accept the teaching position there. Wow, Delanie - 14 hair cuts. I can imagine how thrilled these people were. We continue to pray for you daily. Can't believe how fast the time has gone. Take care and have a great week!! Sue and Roger :)
